Shawarma Snack Center
As of this writing. Christmas just ended with New Year's just around the corner and what better way to wait for tomorrow than celebrate yesterday?
Picture this, a young Doby just having finished his grade school or high school classes would go to his mother waiting to pick him up. Little did he know, his mom had a surprise waiting for him as well. Regular kids would be getting some fast food in well known establishments like Mcdonald's or Jollibee and sure I did have those at times (and even Red Ribbon and The Old Spaghetti House as well), but one after school treat I'll always have close to my heart and stomach is shawarma from Shawarma Snack Center. What makes it so special to even remember it after all this time? It wasn't the sauce nor was it the flavor, but the melancholy of a great deal on shawarma and the smile of an old friend welcoming you back after all these years.
Shawarma Snack Center is one of those diamond in the rough franchises you'd find and always go back to after seeing how much of a good deal you'd have. It turns into cravings after those initial wallet scrambles but considering it's Shawarma you'd most likely have those cravings anyway. Who doesn't like Shawarma right? Think Master Siomai in that you'd find it in almost every LRT station and for some apparent reason if you have free time, you'd pass by since Master Siomai has some really good Siomai at affordable prices. Anyway back to the Shawarma, there are two flavors being sold at Shawarma Snack Center namely beef and chicken with a combination of the two also being a possibility at 60 pesos for the regular beef or chicken shawarma and 70 for a regular mixed shawarma.
There's also the option of having these be special orders for 75 or 80 pesos respectively with it being a surprise to readers when they get there. There's also the option of having some cheese thrown in for around 10 pesos with it highly being recommended because like pizza and love, everything's better when its cheesy. What really made me come back after all these years though is their wonderful 3 for 150 promo. Let me put it this way. You're saving 30 pesos for 2 beef and 1 chicken shawarma. There's not much to say about that other than the deal you're getting but then again it's like you're getting a bouquet of shawarma. You can get a bouquet of roses for roughly the same price or other flowers as well but consider this. What if, you're situated in Makati and have that shawarma craving or someone you know has that craving? Your budget is skewed due to all the other obligations you've had to spend on so your wallet is practically bleeding out right now but wait. You suddenly find a 100 pesos stuck between your ID card and one of your pictures what would you do?
Shawarma Snack Center is a nice little booth that you can find in the 2nd floor of WalterMart Makati located in front of Don Bosco Makati. Sure its been a while since I've had shawarma from there but it still tastes the same as the day I just got out of classes back then. Shawarma Snack Center might not be the best shawarma stands you could go to but at the end of the day, it will always deliver on being one of the most consistent and reliable shawarma stands you could eat at.
